Despite a 104–102 loss to the Aces, the expansion Valkyries proved once again that they belong — and that no arena is too big, no opponent too stacked.
A’ja Wilson and Jackie Young combined for 64 points, but it took everything the Aces had to hold off a relentless Golden State squad that never stopped swinging. The score was tied 94–94 with under two minutes to play before Young closed the game with ten straight points. Still, Golden State stayed within striking distance, raining down two late threes from Cecilia Zandalasini and Tiffany Hayes, and a Kayla Thornton jumper at the buzzer that made it a final 104–102.
