The Golden State Valkyries didn’t just win on Monday night — they hatched history. Their mascot Violet cheered them on to their victory.
Fresh off a dominant 74–57 win over the Connecticut Sun, the Chase Center crowd was treated to another first in our young franchise’s story. This was the long-awaited debut of our official team mascot, Violet the Raven.

For weeks, Valkyries fans had been buzzing over the mysterious “Chase Center Nest Cam” — a faux livestream fixed on a giant, speckled egg. The Valkyries teased that something special was about to “hatch.” On Birdwatchers Night, the big moment finally arrived. Fans in the stands even received binoculars to play along. They scanned the arena for any sign of movement from our soon-to-be feathered friend.
At halftime, the lights dimmed, and the video screen lit up with a first-bird view of Violet’s journey — from imagined hatching to full flight. Moments later, the music hit, the Chase Center tunnel erupted, and Violet strutted out to midcourt. She danced and waved to a roaring crowd. The crowd instantly embraced her as one of our own.
She’s bold, she’s fierce, and she’s all Valkyries. With her debut, Violet becomes a new symbol of our fight, our unity, and our energy. Judging by the smiles in the stands, she’s already a fan favorite.
From the court dominance of Hayes, Zandalasini, and Salaün to the feathered flash of Violet the Raven, this was a night to remember in Golden State basketball history.
The message from the Valkyries was clear: We’re not just building a team — we’re building a family, a culture, and a legacy. And now, we’ve got a Raven watching over it all.
